Introduction
The Farm is a mixed family farm of twelve acres bordering on Lake Victoria located thirty five kilometers from Mukono Municipality.
Infrastructure of the Farm
(1) 12 Acres of fenced prime farmland bordering on Lake Victoria with a lake beach water frontage of 150 meters.
(2) A fresh water pump house some 50 meters from the lake with two engine driven water pumps (1 diesel unit and 1 petrol driven) which pumps water approximately 1.2 kilometers to the main activity areas of the farm
(3) A block built feed mill with a diesel driven hammer mill which processes and produces feeds for chicken and pigs, some grain crops are produced on the farm, the majority of mill feeds are purchased in raw state processed and mixed with vitamins, additives and nutrients on the farm.
(4) A block build chicken house 60’ x 30’, complete with store, which currently houses approximately 1,000 plus chickens in various stages of growth, chicks, pre-layers, layers and cocks
(5) A split Chicken house which houses layers and cocks in one section, layer and cocks plus guinea fowl in another section the balance of the building an old pig house complete with store is unoccupied and being prepared to be converted to a chicken house to house approx another 500 - 600 more chickens
(6) A block built pig house consisting of 20 individual pig sty’s built in European style of sleeping area and run which can house up to 100 units currently the pig houses a herd of pigs comprising of piglets, wieners, gilts and sows.
(7) A large block built unit 50’ x 50’ comprising of a barn cum garage cum workshop,
(8) Staff accommodation comprising of 11 individual block built units three large staff rooms and seven smaller staff accommodation units
(9) A block built ablution block for staff comprising of three units
(10) A large block built fenced enclosure which houses 13 goats, three female, two rams and seven younger goats
(11) A block built works kitchen fitted with energy saving wood stoves
(12) An attached workers dining room
(13) A block built power house which houses three generators of different sizes
(14) A block built residential farm bungalow home for use by the owners
(15) A 8x5 meter Greenhouse fully fitted with water drip feed system inside and the adjoining nursery field and garden
(16) A full road access system throughout the farm
(17) The farm is fully plumbed and has many water storage tanks at strategic points throughout the main activity area
(18) The farm is fully electrified with both 240 Volt systems provided from the powerhouse to, the garage / barn, the power house, security and access lighting, the workers accommodation, workers kitchen, workers dining room and owners residential home
(19) Solar power is also available and provides power to security access lighting, the workers accommodation, workers kitchen, workers dining room and owners residential home
(20) All farm buildings permanent and are constructed of concrete block nine nine and all roofing is corrugated iron sheet
(21) The farm is very mechanized and has a wide array of machinery and equipment, tractors, tipping trailers, ploughs, rotovators, rippers, forklift, rakes and a wide array of attachments
(22) The farm has large trees throughout and the water front is surrounded with large palm trees, the farm has good quality soil and has been thoroughly cleared of bush and rocks for rotorvation, plowing and drill seeding with extensive sand reserves in the lower beach areas
Current farming activities
The farm main business is livestock, chickens, chicks and eggs currently approximately one thousand plus chickens, pigs mixed sows, piglets, gilts and young boars approximately forty units, goats thirteen, two rams, 4 females and 7 younger goats.
The farm has many Matoke, Papaya, Avocadoes, Yams, Sweet peppers, Beans, Cassava and other local vegetables grown for workers consumption
The farm has a new Passion Fruit project and has already planted over 600 seedlings with framing and a balance 2,000 plants which are ready for planting which will cover approximately 2 - 3 acres
The farm has its own mill and some grain crops are grown on the farm, milled and mixed with food additives minerals and vitamins on the farm for food stocks for farm livestock.
